Georgia tailback Keith Marshall made the trip to Jacksonville. He just didn’t travel with the football team.

Marshall, who has missed the last four games with knee and ankle sprains in his right leg, partied with fellow UGA students on what they call “Frat Beach” on St. Simons Island on Friday. On Saturday, he sat in the stands to watch the Georgia-Florida game for the first time as a fan.

Bulldogs coach Mark Richt had hinted this past Wednesday that Marshall may have recovered enough to be able play some in Saturday’s game. But Marshall wasn’t on the 70-man travel roster, which UGA would have solidified this past Thursday.

Of course, Marshall wasn’t the only tailback out of action on Saturday. Star Todd Gurley did not make the trip while sitting out the third of a four-game suspension for breaking NCAA rules. And freshman Sony Michel remains out with a shoulder injury that has kept him out of the past three games.
