In their second season in history, the Kennesaw State Owls finished 8-3 overall and in a tie for third in the Big South Conference. The Owls lost their final game, 28-7 to Charleston Southern, but with a victory that day, they would have finished the season tied with Liberty atop the conference standings.

Kennesaw State also is only the second Division I team to post a winning season in its first two years of existence.

Although the Owls have only three commits so far, there’s no need to panic as they will 17 of their 22 starters return next season.

The Owls added another offensive piece in three-star recruit Antavius Grier, a wide receiver/running back from Jackson. Grier gained 968 rushing yards in his final season on just 125 carries, averaging 7.7 yards per rush. He also finished the season with 15 touchdowns.

Samuel Collins is a two-star player from Vidalia and is listed at 6-foot-3, 263 pounds. Look for him to help add some physicality to the Owls’ offensive line.

The third player committed to the Owls is two-star running back Samuel Bryant, who ran the 40-yard dash in 4.36 seconds and was the first player to commit in this 2017 class. Look for him to add some speed to an already high-powered offense that ranked 10th nationally in total offense (479.5 yards per game) last season.

National signing day is Feb. 1.
