Georgia Tech defensive tackle Jabari Hunt-Days, trying to regain his academic eligibility, reported to the team hotel Friday afternoon for preseason camp. It was a noteworthy (if expected) indication of his status for the coming season.
Hunt-Days was declared ineligible in May 2014, rendering him unable to play last fall. Coach Paul Johnson has sounded a hopeful tone about Hunt-Days' academic progress since then, saying in the middle of July that "I think he'll be fine."
Johnson, who said that his eligibility status would be determined following the end of the summer term, is expected to address the matter Saturday morning following the team’s first practice. Tech’s summer term officially ends Saturday and grades are due Monday.
