July 20, 2016

Georgia Tech picked up its second lineman of its 2017 class Tuesday when Savannah Christian guard Zach Quinney gave his commitment. Quinney, a three-star prospect by 247 Sports, made the announcement on his Twitter account. He is the seventh overall member of the class.

Among Quinney’s list of offers are North Carolina, Mississippi State, Wake Forest and Duke. Quinney had tweeted Sunday that he had made a visit to Tech. The team held a camp Sunday.

In his tweet, Quinney wrote that “I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at Georgia Tech!!!”

Quinney is listed at 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds. He was a second-team all-state pick in Class A as a junior. Tech had targeted him fairly early in his recruitment. He announced an offer from the school Feb. 8, saying it was his second offer.
