One of Georgia Tech’s newest commits Kelton Dawson has only been a part of Tech’s signing class for a few days, but Dawson knows how good Tech’s signing class can be.

The 3-star defensive end from Stockbridge High School announced he joined Tech’s signing class on Sunday after his official visit over the weekend.

“We’re going to be right — we’re going to be a family,” Dawson said. “(The commits) added me to their Twitter group chat, so that’s how I know of everybody and that they’re really close and they’re really a family over there.”
The bond that Tech’s current players share was on display during Dawson’s official visit, which played a role in convincing him to become a Yellow Jacket.
Dawson, 6-foot-3, 242 pounds, was one of three recruits on an official visit to commit to Tech on Sunday along with safety Avery Showell and defensive tackle Antwan Owens.

“The players were telling me, everyone is really saying the same thing and I was like ‘Maybe they’re for real about this maybe and this is really how it is,” Dawson said. “(The players said) that after college, that education is the most (important) here and a Georgia Tech degree is a big thing.”
Dawson chose Tech over Cincinnati, Illinois, Kentucky, Mercer, Missouri, UCF and 11 other offers, according to 247 Sports.
