4-star point guard Charlie Moore picks Cal

May 19, 2016

Four-star point guard Charlie Moore, who had become a target for Georgia Tech since coach Josh Pastner's hire, announced Wednesday from his Twitter account that he will attend California.

“Thanks to all the coaches who recruited me but this upcoming year I will be part of the Cal family,” Moore wrote.

Moore opened his recruitment in April after receiving a release from his letter of intent from Memphis, with whom he had signed last fall when Pastner was coach there.

Tech was one of Moore's eight finalists and made an unofficial visit to Tech. It was thought that his connection with Pastner made Tech a strong possibility for Moore, from Morgan Park High in Chicago.

Pastner will undoubtedly continue to work on bringing in players for the upcoming season, as the Jackets have 10 scholarship players, three short of the maximum.
