More than 160 underclassmen have declared themselves eligible for the 2020 NBA Draft before the April 26 deadline. Thirty-one of those players — including Georgia's Anthony Edwards and Rayshaun Hammonds — come from 12 SEC schools (Ole Miss and Texas A&M are the exceptions).
While, the NBA draft lottery (May 19) and draft combine (May 21-24) in Chicago have been postponed, the draft remains scheduled for June 25.
The 14 lottery teams are uncertain as are most of the playoff alignments. Only Milwaukee, Toronto, Boston and the Los Angeles Lakers had clinched postseason berths by the time the schedule was suspended March 11 after Utah's Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus. A total of 259 games are left on the schedule.
The Atlanta Hawks (20-47) hold the fourth worst record in the league and will have a Top 8 pick. They also hold Houston’s second-round pick (No. 52).
Players still have until 5 p.m. June 3 to remain in the draft or return to school. In all, more than 250 names (including that of 42 international players) are listed as potential picks for the 90 draft spots.
