Georgia Tech’s parade of commitments continued Friday, as defensive end Akelo Stone of Jenkins High in Savannah made public his decision to play for the Yellow Jackets. Stone, who reported his scholarship offer from Tech on Jan. 21, announced his decision in a tweet.

Stone became the 11th prospect to commit to becoming part of Tech’s 2020 signing class and also the fifth in the past seven days. At this time a year ago, the 2019 class had secured three commitments.

Stone, listed at 6-foot-3 and 244 pounds, also received scholarship offers from Missouri, West Virginia and Wake Forest, among others. He is a three-star prospect, the No. 118 prospect in Georgia and the No. 63 strongside defensive end in the country (247Sports Composite).

He is the second defensive end and defensive lineman to commit to the class and the seventh prospect from within Georgia. In his highlight video, he moves fluidly for someone his size and charges through ballcarriers when making tackles. He played tight end and defensive end last season for Jenkins.
