Rome High School running back Jalynn Sykes received an offer from Georgia Tech on Friday, according to Skyes' Twitter account.
Sykes, a 3-star recruit from Rome, Ga., announced his offer on Twitter on Friday, writing that he was “blessed to receive an offer from Georgia Tech.”
The 5-foot-10, 185 pound Sykes has posted about offers from Arkansas, Tennessee and East Carolina on his Twitter account, and has also received offer from Arkansas State and Boston College, according to 247 Sports.
In highlights from his sophomore season, Sykes demonstrates skill in avoiding tackles on the high school level. As an underclassman, Sykes' athleticism and speed during his sophomore season leap off the film.
As an upperclassman with the Rome Wolves, Sykes’ junior season is off to a 3-2 start, most recently coming off a 45-28 win over Carrollton High School.
According to MaxPreps, the Wolves average 284 rushing yards per game and have 21 touchdowns in their five games this season. Sykes has 389 rushing yards so far this season, averaging a team high of 8.8 yards per carry. Sykes also tied for a team high of six rushing touchdowns with Rome sophomore running back Jamious Griffin.
The Wolves’ next game is against Hiram High School on Friday night.
