Quarterback Jaquez Parks has left Kennesaw State’s football team.
Parks, the former Atlanta Journal-Constitution player of the year, informed coach Brian Bohannon of his decision Wednesday morning.
“He didn’t feel like it was the right fit for him and he’s going to elsewhere at the end of the semester,” Bohannon said.
Parks was among those competing for a starting spot until he suffered a knee injury last week.
Bohannon said he had a feeling that Parks was becoming unhappy.
“Just his demeanor and the way he carried himself, you could tell,” Bohannon said.
Bohannon said Parks would be welcomed back if he changes his mind.
Parks led Griffin to its first state title since 1978 and 15-0 finish in 2013. He passed for 3,640 yards and rushed for 1,329 and was responsible for 45 touchdowns.
