Panthers’ future guard Williams enters Georgia State

Isaiah Williams, formerly the freshman of the year for the Southern Conference as a point guard at Samford, has been accepted as a student by Georgia State.

He will sit out a year and be eligible to play for the Panthers in 2015-16.

A native of Buford, Williams averaged 11.9 points, 3.4 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game last year. He had a 1.6 assist-to-turnover ratio.

“Isaiah is a talented guard who can do a lot of different things well” Georgia State coach Ron Hunter said in a statement provided by the athletics department.
