Georgia’s kick-return specialist Isaiah McKenzie was special indeed against Kentucky.

The freshman from Miami returned two more kicks for touchdowns on Saturday. He had a 90-yard touchdown return on the opening kickoff and added a 59-yard punt return early in the second half.

“I watch film a lot, especially on special teams,” said McKenzie, who played at American Heritage High in Fort Lauderdale with Sony Michel last year. “But I didn’t know what they were going to throw at me (Saturday). Whatever they threw at me, I was just going to take it.”

That gives McKenzie three scores off returns this season. Had had a 52-yard punt-return touchdown against Troy on Sept. 20.

It was the second kickoff return for a touchdown for the Bulldogs this season. Todd Gurley had a 100-yard scoring return in the season opener against Clemson on Aug. 30.

McKenzie’s total of 175 yards on three returns represented a dramatic improvement over last week against Florida. He averaged just 17 yards on three kickoff returns against the Gators and had two punts returns for 13 yards.

“I was just believing in what my coach tells me,”McKenzie said. “Last week I wasn’t hitting the right holes and going to the right places. But today, I believed in what he called and hit the right holes. That’s it.”
