R.J. Hunter hit a 3-pointer and blocked a shot in the 62 seconds to lead Georgia State to a 71-69 win over Towson on Monday.

Hunter scored a career-high 27 points to lead the Panthers to their third consecutive victory. He hit four 3-pointers, including one with 1:02 left that gave the Panthers a four-point lead. Devonta White added 14 points and six assists. Rashaad Richardson added 11. Manny Atkins, earlier in the day named the Colonial Athletic Association player of the week, added nine. It was the first time in four games he failed to score at least 20 points.

But Georgia State (9-11, 4-3) didn’t need him because of Hunter’s hot hand, which included blocking a shot with two seconds left in the game.

Neither team led by more than six points.

Georgia State will host North Carolina Wilmington on Wednesday at the Sports Arena.
