Gueye was suspended for Georgia State exhibition

Oct 31, 2017

Georgia Tech forward Abdoulaye Gueye was not present for the Yellow Jackets’ exhibition game against Georgia State Saturday at McCamish Pavilion because he was suspended for a violation of team rules.

Coach Josh Pastner said he expected Gueye to be with the team for its second exhibition game, against Faulkner on Thursday evening at McCamish.

Gueye, a junior, twice served suspensions last year. The first followed his arrest in October 2016 on a charge of simple battery and the second stemmed from an NCAA rules violation for improper benefits, as he received training that he did not pay for.

Gueye is expected to contribute this season. He backed up center Ben Lammers last year before suffering a wrist fracture and could get minutes this season at center and power forward.
