Georgia Tech coach Josh Pastner elevated assistant coach Eric Reveno’s title to associate head coach Friday, calling it a “well-deserved promotion.”

Reveno is the lone assistant coach who remains with Pastner from his original staff. He has developed a reputation for his work with post players, including Ben Lammers (2017 ACC defensive player of the year) and James Banks (2019 ACC all-defensive team), and for his use of analytics to inform the Yellow Jackets’ development and game planning.

“Eric is a former head coach and understands how to run a program,” Pastner said in a statement. “He’s had a lot of responsibility behind the scenes here over the last three years, keeping us organized and moving in the right direction in so many areas. He’s also done a tremendous job on the court, developing our frontcourt players and in our scouting and game-planning.”

Reveno, who was head coach at Portland for 10 seasons before he was hired by Pastner, will not have a change in roles or responsibility.

“The biggest thing about being named associate head coach is it just reminds me of how grateful I am to be a part of this program,” Reveno said in a statement. “It is an honor to work with Georgia Tech basketball and for Coach Pastner. It is also a blast and a privilege to work with our tremendous student-athletes. I am excited to continue to help build a championship program and help our players be the be the best they can be.”
