DeVante’ Jones scored 23 points as Coastal Carolina narrowly defeated Georgia State 74-72 on Saturday in Conway, S.C.

Sophomore Justin Roberts scored 16 points and seven rebounds for the Panthers (10-5, 3-1 Sun Belt Conference). Corey Allen added 12 points. Kane Williams had 11 points and seven assists.

Keishawn Brewton had 14 points for Coastal Carolina (9-6, 2-2). Hosana Kitenge added 12 points. Garrick Green had 10 points for the host team.

The Chanticleers forced a season-high 23 turnovers.

Coastal Carolina held a 68-58 lead with two minutes left in the game, when the Panthers began a surge before falling short.

Georgia State takes on Arkansas State on the road Monday.
