The Georgia State men’s basketball team has completed its non-conference schedule and is headlined by road games at 2015 NCAA tournament participants Ole Miss and UAB, and a home game against Old Dominion.
The Panthers, champions of the Sun Belt Conference, will also play at Wright State on Dec. 4 in a homecoming game for coach Ron Hunter and player Markus Crider, who are from the Dayton area of Ohio. Redshirt freshman Jeff Thomas is from Norwalk, Ohio.
The road games start in Oxford against the Rebels, 21-13 last year, on Nov. 25. Georgia State will receive $90,000 for that game. The schedule continues with a game at Conference USA foe UAB on Dec. 1. Georgia State will receive $75,000 for that game. Like the Panthers, the Blazers were a 14th seed in last year’s NCAA tournament and won their opening game. Other road games are at Wright State on Dec. 4 and at Southern Miss on Dec. 19.
The home schedule includes games against IUPUI, coach Ron Hunter’s former school, and former CAA foe Old Dominion on Dec. 12. The Monarchs went 27-8 during the regular season last year. The home non-conference schedule will end with Middle Tennessee State, which went 19-17 last year, on Dec. 22. Georgia State will play at Middle Tennessee State in the 2016-17 season.
