Georgia’s sophomore guard poured in a career-high 37 points as the Bulldogs held on to defeat Mississippi State 72-66. It was the fourth victory in a row for the Bulldogs, who improve to 13-5 overall and 4-2 in SEC play.

Mississippi State falls to 9-10 (2-4 SEC) after winning its previous two games.

Frazier was nearly perfect on the day. He was 7-for-7 from 3-point range, 12 of 14 overall and added 7 rebounds and three assists. Kenny Gaines was the only other Bulldog in double figures with 10 points.

Georgia led by as many as 12 points in the second half. But State came roaring back late and got to within one point on I.J. Ready’s 3-point with 2:18 to play. But then the Maroon Bulldogs missed four consecutive shots one of their last possessions and Georgia closed out the game from the foul line.

Georgia got behind 17-9 midway through the first half, then shot its way back in it. The Bulldogs were deadly from 3-point range, making 7 of 8 in the opening period. The last came from Frazier with 20 seconds remaining in the half and gave the Georgia 36-31 lead it would carry into the locker room.

Frazier led the way with 14 points and, at 3-for-3, was one of three Bulldogs who was perfect from beyond the arc in the first half. Kenny Gaines (2-3) had the only miss while Thornton and Mann also made 3s.
