Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson made the rounds at ESPN Monday, albeit a little late.

The parking brake on the private jet that Johnson used to fly out of Fulton County Airport-Charlie Brown Field Monday morning was stuck, keeping the plane grounded for about an hour and a half. Once Johnson reached the ESPN campus in Bristol, Conn., he was subject to the network’s “car wash” experience – a series of quick-hit interviews with various ESPN shows and platforms.

Johnson filled out his schedule of 15 interviews with the network’s TV, radio and Internet outlets before returning to Atlanta Monday afternoon. Among the topics was, naturally, the ACC’s rivalry with the SEC, which has taken a different turn after Tech, Clemson, Florida State and Louisville swept Georgia, South Carolina, Florida and Kentucky, respectively, on the final weekend of the regular season last year.

“I can assure you Georgia isn’t any different than Clemson or Florida State or some other teams we play,” Johnson told ESPN reporter Joe Schad.

Johnson was at ESPN along with six other ACC coaches, helping bring publicity to the conference. The remaining seven will be at the network Tuesday.
