Dye, Zambiasi join Georgia-Florida Hall of Fame

Nov 1, 2014

Former Georgia football stars Pat Dye and Ben Zambiasi were inducted into the City of Jacksonville’s Georgia-Florida Hall of Fame.

Dye, a first-team All-SEC lineman in 1958 and an All-American in 1959 and 1960, deflected a Florida pass into a teammate’s arm for an interception/touchdown against the Gators in ‘59. Zambiasi, an All-SEC linebacker in 1975, 1976 and 1977 and an All-American in ’76, still holds the UGA career record for tackles with 467.

Former Florida stars James Bates and Louis Oliver also were inducted into the game’s Hall of Fame at a luncheon Friday at EverBank Field.
