Three Georgia Tech players were honored by the ACC as players of the week for their respective positions – B-back Synjyn Days, right guard Shaquille Mason and linebacker Quayshawn Nealy.

The last time Tech had three players honored in one week was in 2011, following the Yellow Jackets’ 35-28 win over North Carolina. Tech also now has had eight players honored this season, the most since the 2011 season.

“It’s great for them, I think it’s great for the team,” coach Paul Johnson said.

In Tech’s 56-23 win over N.C. State Saturday, Days ran for a career-high 157 yards on 19 carries, including a 53-yard touchdown run, also a career long, to be named offensive back of the week. He is 25 yards shy of reaching 1,000 yards for his career. He has gained 42 percent of his 975 yards in the past three games, generated by 36 percent of his career rushing attempts.

Mason earned his second offensive lineman of the week award and fourth of his career by helping Tech gain 479 rushing yards against the Wolfpack. It’s the fourth-highest total ever in an ACC game and the most by Tech in an ACC game.

Nealy earned the third ACC linebacker of the week honor of his career with six tackles, a 43-yard fumble return for a touchdown and a 71-yard interception return.
