The exhibit: The National Football Foundation's "Building Leaders Through Football" gallery focuses on the work of the NFF and football players who went on to great achievements off the field.

Touring it: The MacArthur Bowl — the silver trophy on which the NFF has inscribed the name of college football's national champion each year since 1959 — is on display. It is named for Gen. Douglas MacArthur, an early leader of the NFF, which was founded in 1947 and started the College Football Hall of Fame in 1951.

Talking about it: "We want to recognize people around the country who played football and have gone on to do big things in life," NFF president and chief executive Steve Hatchell said. "Look at our (NFF) board. John Mack was head of Morgan Stanley, played football at Duke. Jeff Immelt is head of General Electric, played at Dartmouth. (TV journalist) Jack Ford played at Yale. (Dallas Cowboys owner) Jerry Jones played on an undefeated national champion Arkansas team."
