Clark Atlanta fired men’s basketball coach Tony LaMarr on Wednesday.
LaMarr led the Panthers to a 31-53 record in three seasons. Before becoming head coach, LaMarr was an assistant coach in the program.
LaMarr is a native of Stone Mountain and attended Tucker High. His high school career included coaching stops at Shiloh and Central Gwinnett.
“Coach LaMarr served this university with professionalism, passion, and a desire to develop his student-athletes into leaders,” Athletic Director Lin Dawson said in a news release. “We are grateful for his dedication to the basketball program and wish him well in his next pursuits.”
Assistant coach Alfred Jordan, a former Panthers player for three seasons, will serve as interim coach while the school searches for a head coach.
Before arriving at Clark Atlanta, LaMarr was an assistant coach for two seasons at Fort Valley State and one at Lawson State Community College in Birmingham, Ala.
