Sunday was a light but fulfilling day at the Belk Bowl for the Georgia Bulldogs.

It began early in the morning with half of the team spending an hour at the Second Harvest Food Bank while the other half visited patients at the Levine Children’s Hospital. Later in the afternoon, the Bulldogs avoided a light rain long enough to hold a 75-minute, closed workout in “shells” (shoulder pads and helmets). The day culminated with a team dinner at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse.

With that, Georgia’s preparations for the Belk Bowl are unofficially concluded. Selected Bulldogs and coach Mark Richt will participate in the Belk Bowl pregame news conference Monday morning at BB&T Ballpark, the home of Charlotte Knights, a triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Louisville coach Bobby Petrino and some of the Cardinals’ players will also be available for the question-and-answer session with media covering Tuesday’s bowl game (6:30 p.m., ESPN).
