Georgia (21-11) drew the No. 10 seed in the East Regional in Charlotte and will face Michigan State (23-11) on Friday.

That was the word from the NCAA selection committee, which revealed its picks on the nationally-televised selection show Sunday on CBS. Later, the game was set for a 12:40 p.m. tip.

The Bulldogs finished in a tie for third in the SEC and were knocked out the SEC tournament semifinals on Saturday by Arkansas. The Spartans lost to Wisconsin in overtime in the Big Ten tournament championship game Sunday.

This will be the Bulldogs’ 12th NCAA tournament appearance of all time and first since 2011. Coach Mark Fox also led them to that last one four years ago, when Georgia fell to Washington 68-65 — also as a 10 seed in Charlotte — to finish the season 21-12.

The Bulldogs will discuss their bid at a news conference on campus at 8:30 p.m. Check back for more details.
