Georgia State came out and played inspired football from the opening kickoff until the final whistle Saturday to earn a 30-24 victory over Georgia Southern.
In the Panthers’ (3-8, 2-5 Sun Belt) final contest in the Georgia Dome, they took a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series against the rival Eagles (4-7, 3-4) allowing the seniors to fully celebrate Senior Day.
Quarterback Conner Manning picked up from where he left off last week and completed 21-of-39 passes for 318 yards and two passing touchdowns to go along with one rushing score. Tight end Keith Rucker emerged as the signal caller’s favorite target for the day, and the senior caught eight passes for 145 yards, both season highs.
