A Florida State player was named the ACC’s top linebacker for the second consecutive week.

Junior Christian Jones was honored for his performance in the Seminoles’ 48-7 victory over Duke. Jones had a season high 11 tackles, including four for losses, as FSU held the Blue Devils to a season-low 232 yards.

Junior Telvin Smith captured the same honor last week.

True freshman Ronald Darby was a co-defensive back of the week for his role in limiting Duke to 129 yards passing.

The Seminoles, whose next game is Nov. 1 at Virginia Tech, lead the ACC in six defensive categories. They top the nation in defense third-down efficiency (28.1 percent), are second in total defense (227.1 yards per game), third in scoring defense (12 ppg) and third in rushing defense (72.9 ypg).
