UPDATE: DeMarre Carroll did not play in Tuesday’s game against the Pacers due to a left hamstring strain. He was replaced in the starting lineup by Cartier Martin.

As I first tweeted this morning following Hawks’ shootaround, DeMarre Carroll is being listed as a game-time decision tonight against the Pacers. The small forward missed last week’s game at the Raptors, before the All-Star break, with a left hamstring strain.

Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said Carroll will go through pre-game warmups before a final decision is made. I expect Carroll to play and matchup with Pacers’ All-Star Paul George. If Carroll can not play, Budenholzer said there are “several options” to defend George.

Carroll has missed five games this season, two with a sprained right thumb, two with strained left hamstring and one for the birth of his child. In those games, the Hawks are 1-4 with an average margin of defeat of 17.8 points.

Also I also first tweeted this morning, Pero Antic is out for tonight’s game against the Pacers. He is with the team and was out shootaround but did not really participate. He did some shooting but has not begun to practice as he continues his recovery from a stress fracture of the right ankle.

“I would say he is basically not practicing,” Budenholzer said when I asked for an update on Antic. “He is doing some shooting and some mobility rehab-type stuff. I wouldn’t classify it as practicing.”

Antic has missed three weeks with the injury. The original diagnosis called for him to miss two to four weeks.
