The Braves have made pitching a priority and it is beginning to pay off.

On the same night Mike Foltynewicz pitched a complete game shutout for the Braves, prospect Kolby Allard threw seven strong innings for the Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers.

Allard, a 20-year-old left-hander, allowed just one earned run and five hits. He struck out two and walked just one but did not get a decision as the Stripers lost 3-1 at Louisville.

Allard lowered his ERA to 2.00, second-best in the International League.

Gwinnett’s five-game winning streak came to an end.

Third baseman Austin Riley went 2-for-4 for the Stripers (24-28).
