Anriel Howard’s next step in her plan has come to fruition.

Howard was chosen in the second round of the WNBA Draft by the Seattle Storm, the 24th player drafted Wednesday night.

As a freshman at Texas A&M, Howard set the NCAA Tournament record with 27 rebounds. That also set a Texas A&M single-game record and was the first 20-plus rebound game for an Aggie since 1988.

She set the career record for the Aggies with 1,002 rebounds, the first Texas A&M player with more than 1,000 rebounds.

Howard, a 5-foot-11 forward, transferred from A&M after the 2017-18 season to Mississippi State as a graduate transfer. There, she totaled 301 rebounds for Mississippi State during the 2018-19 season.

Howard was a highly decorated player at Westlake High School in Atlanta before enrolling at Texas A&M.
