Paul Millsap was one of three players cut from 2014-16 U.S. Men’s Basketball team, according to a report by Yahoo Sports.
The Hawks All-Star forward was joined by the Wizards’ John Wall and Bradley Beal as the roster was trimmed to 16 players prior to the Chicago training camp, according to the report. The roster stands at 16 with the loss of Paul George to a broken leg.
Team USA had scheduled to release the names of the those cut from the team Tuesday.
Hawks guard Kyle Korver remains on the roster.
Millsap was a late addition to the roster. He was added last month when the Timberwolves’ Kevin Love withdrew.
The U.S. just completed a camp in Las Vegas and will compete in New York after Chicago. The camps will be used to decide the 12-man U.S. roster that will compete in the FIBA Basketball World Cup that will be held in Spain starting Aug. 30. The U.S. will try to secure an automatic berth in the 2016 Olympics.
