What they said after the Hawks’ 102-96 win over the Pacers Friday:

"It was a game where both teams made a run at each other. Never big games but swings of 10-0, 8-0 runs. Give our guys credit for making enough plays. I thought the defense down the stretch was pretty good. They made some amazing shots, event before the end of the game, some of the shots they were able to make. It was good. I think the offense is coming a little bit. Jeff (Teague) and Al (Horford) were good to end the game. Dennis (Schroder) and Al to finish the third quarter were good. It's a good win for us. Hopefully, we can continue to build off of this." – Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer's opening statement

"I think we are a good defensive team. Just because you get a rebound doesn't mean you are automatically going to score. You have to try to score against a good defensive team again. Obviously, we'd like to be better. Just because you give up a rebound doesn't mean automatically they are going to score two points. We need to be better. Overall, our defense is what's giving us a chance." – Budenholzer on winning despite being outrebounded

"I think we are developing the mind set of being a good defensive team. We want to be better rebounding. We are not happy or content to give up offensive rebounds. We are not going to put our head down and stop guarding, stop defending." – Budenholzer on defensive mindset

"You put Jeff and Al in the middle pick-and-roll, it makes it difficult. He got a couple looks there. He got one in transition. I think he got a little momentum coming off the third quarter where he got a dunk and did a couple things. Al, in the second half, was really good. Paul (Millsap) carried us in the first half." – Budenholzer on Al Horford

"You have to do a lot of other things really well when you get outrebounded by 20. Eventually, you still have to put the ball in the basket. I think our defensive activity was pretty good for the most part. Paul George got hot and made some great plays. Our defense was good. Our activity was good. We turned them over a lot which led to some points for us. We know we can't normally win when we get outrebounded by 20." – Kyle Korver on winning despite being outrebounded

"I think we are getting better. We still have a ways to go. A lot of it comes down to just making shots. We've been getting decent shots for a few weeks now. We just have to, the shooters we are, have to knock down shots. Our point guard play of late has been great." – Korver on offense

"At some point, you can play solid all you want but you've got to make energy plays. There are plays that give your team life – be it a dunk or a 3 or a charge or a dive on the floor. We are starting to make a few more of those. Not flashy, fancy alley-oops but just good plays. It's like 'Yes.' That has been the biggest key of us lately." – Korver on energy plays

"I was still aggressive. Coach said still be aggressive even though I missed those shots in the first half. I did that. I had confidence. Al told me too, to pull up and take the jumpers when they are sagging off and I did it. Al did some great plays and that's the reason we got the win." – Dennis Schroder on late third-quarter run

"We just tried to make it tough on him. He's a talented player going to the right and attacking the rim. We did our best to get him going left a little bit and tried to make him make tough shots." – Jeff Teague on slowing Monta Ellis

"We just kept pushing the pace of the game and playing fast. It wasn't one of our best efforts on the boards but we just did enough to win." – Al Horford on winning despite being outrebounded

"I think so. The guys were pretty excited about the dunk. I felt like that definitely fueled us going into the fourth." – Horford on late third-quarter run

"We shot the ball well. The 3-point shot was falling. We got a lot of layups. I think that helped a lot." – Paul Millsap on winning despite being outrebounded

"It's been a case this year where if the offense is playing well, the defense isn't playing well. Defense playing well, offense isn't. I think it's time we get a good balance where the defense and the offense (are playing together). I think we are headed in the right direction right now." – Millsap on Hawks offense
