Paul Millsap was named the recipient of the Jason Collier Memorial Trophy by the Hawks on Tuesday.

The All-Star power forward is in the 10th winner of the trophy, which is named for the former Hawks player who died in 2005. It is awarded annually to the Hawks player who best exemplifies the characteristics Collier displayed off the court as a community ambassador.

Millsap provided backpacks and a year’s worth of school supplies for 600 students at the M.R. Hollis Innovation Academy in Atlanta in September.

Collier’s wife, Catie, daughter, Ella, and his parents, Jeff and Joyce, were present at the award ceremony before the Hawks hosted the Hornets in the final regular-season game.

Past recipients were Josh Childress, Marvin Williams, Al Horford, Josh Smith, Zaza Pachulia, Devin Harris, Kyle Korver, DeMarre Carroll and Mike Muscala.
