The Hawks’ victory over the Pacers in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series Monday night was the highest-rated Hawks game in the history of the regional Fox Sports South and SportSouth networks.
SportSouth posted a 4.50 rating for the 107-97 victory that put the Hawks up 3-2 in the best-of-seven series. The game had a peak rating of 6.72 in the 10:30 p.m. quarter-hour.
The viewership surpassed the Hawks’ regular-season game against the Celtics on Jan. 29, 2010, which finished with a 4.47 rating on SportSouth. The Hawks have appeared on the regional networks since the 1996-97 season.
The Hawks can win the series with a victory in Game 6 Thursday at Philips Arena. Game time is 7 p.m. on Fox Sports South. The game will also be carried nationally by NBA TV.
