The NBA announced that Hawks rookie John Collins was selected to play in the Rising Stars game during All-Star weekend in Los Angeles.

Collins was among 10 players named to the U.S. team for the Feb. 16 game that features rookies and second-year players. The U.S. will play a team composed of international players.

NBA assistant coaches voted for the teams. The game will be aired on TNT.

Entering Wednesday Collins was averaging 10.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks over 40 games. He ranked tied for first among qualified rookies in blocks per game, second in field-goal percentage (59) and fourth in rebounds.

The Hawks selected Collins, 20, with the No. 19 pick in the 2017 draft out of Wake Forest.
