In a homecoming for Shoni Schimmel and Angel McCoughtry, the Dream will be host for the Atlanta Dream Classic at Louisville’s KFC Yum! Center on May 23 to open the WNBA team’s exhibition schedule.
The WNBA doubleheader will match the Indiana Fever against the Connecticut Sun at 5 p.m. and the Dream against the Washington Mystics at 7 p.m. Both Schimmel and McCoughtry were collegiate stars at Louisville and are the top two scorers in school history.
The teams will play closed scrimmages on May 21-22 in preparation for their exhibition openers.
“I cannot wait to get back to my roots and return to Louisville,” said McCoughtry in a news release. “It has been six years since I played in Louisville, and it will be great to return.”
