The Hawks will feature a roster of 15 players for their entry in the Las Vegas Summer League.

The roster includes two rookies from last season in guard Lamar Patterson and center Edy Tavares and all three of this year’s draft picks in forward Taurean Prince (Baylor), forward DeAndre’ Bembry (St. Joseph’s) and guard Isaia Cordinier (France). It also includes forward Matt Costello (Michigan State), who agreed to a contract and will go to training camp in September.

The rest of the roster includes guard Kevin Pangos (Gonzaga), guard Bryce Cotton (Providence), forward Brandon Taylor (Penn State), forward Reggie Redding (Villanova), forward Darington Hobson (New Mexico), forward Brandon Ashley (Arizona), forward Malcolm Thomas (San Diego State), forward Jordan Tolbert (SMU) and forward Stephane Lasme (Massachusetts).

The Hawks will use the summer league to get significant playing time for Patterson, Tavares, Prince and Bembry. The four will compete for roster spots when training camp begins in September. Cordinier should also see plenty of time although he will return to France for at least one more season.

The Hawks’ entry features players who have professional experience overseas and who have played in the NBA Development League.

Cotton has NBA experience having played for the Jazz, Suns and Grizzlies. He also played for the Austin Spurs of the D-League and in China. Hobson was a second-round pick of the Bucks in 1010 and Lasme was a second-round pick of the Warriors in 2007. Both have played internationally and in the D-League.

Ashley was a member of the Hawks summer league last year. He did stints playing in Germany and the D-League.

The Hawk begin summer league play on Friday in the tournament held on the campus of Nevada-Las Vegas. The event runs from July 8-18.

The Hawks are guaranteed five games. They will play three opening-round games against the Rockets at 8 p.m. Friday, the Wizards at 4:30 p.m. Sunday and the Nets at 4 p.m. Monday. All three Hawks games will be aired on NBA TV and streamed live by ESPN3.

Following the conclusion of the opening-round games, all of the 24 teams will then be seeded for a double-elimination tournament.
