Next up, 2 Chainz.
Rap star Tauheed ‘2 Chainz’ Epps will perform three times at the Hawks-Heat game March 27 at Philips Arena, the team announced Tuesday. The College Park native will to a pregame performance that will lead into player introductions. He will return for a halftime performance and an extended postgame concert.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. game on March 27. The first 5,000 fans will receive copies of the latest 2 Chainz mixtape ‘T.R.U. Jack City.’
“As an Atlantan, I’m excited to collaborate with my beloved Hawks on March 27 as they face off against the Miami Heat,” 2 Chainz said in a statement. “The Hawks have been ‘TRU to Atlanta’ this season so it’s only right that we come out to support.”
Tip ‘T.I.’ Harris performed in a similar fashion on opening night Nov. 1.
2 Chainz has attended many Hawks games over the past several seasons.
“We could not be more excited to partner with 2 Chainz, an Atlanta-bred superstar who has been one of the team’s biggest supporters and always remained ‘True to Atlanta,’” Hawks CEO Steve Koonin said in a statement. “Working with Chainz is a perfect fit for our organization as we continue to attract an increasingly diverse, millennial fan base that values great entertainment both on and off the court.”
