Bembry scores 19 points in D-League assignment game
Hawks rookie DeAndre Bembry scored 19 points in an NBA Development League assignment game with the Salt Lake City Stars Sunday.
Bembry started at guard for the Stars, the affiliate of the Jazz, and also had six rebounds, four assists and two steals in 35 minutes of a 97-88 loss at the Sioux Falls Skyforce. He was 8 of 15 from the field, including 1 of 3 from 3-point range, in the game played at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The Hawks intend to recall Bembry following the one-game stint to get playing time.
Bembry played one other game with the Stars on assignment and had 35 points, six rebounds, six assists, two steals and a block in 36 minutes.
