Friday’s game may have been a preview of Braves’ opening-day lineup

Julio Alberto Teheran was born Jan. 27, 1991 in Cartagena, Colombia. The Braves signed Teheran on July 2, 2007. In November 2007, Baseball America listed Teheran as the Braves' No. 10 prospect behind, among others, Brandon Jones, Gorkys Hernandez, Brent Lillibridge, Cole Rohrbough and Jeff Locke. Teheran made his major league debut May 7, 2011 at the Phillies. The first batter he faced was shortstop Jimmy Rollins, who hit a single to right field. Teheran retired the next three batters he faced in that inn

For Friday night’s exhibition game against the Detroit Tigers, the Braves started what could well be their opening-day lineup.

That included center fielder Ender Inciarte leading off, left fielder Ronald Acuna hitting cleanup and Brian McCann at catcher with Julio Teheran on the mound.

The full batting order for Friday’s game, which was televised on Fox Sports South:

1. Ender Inciarte, CF

2. Josh Donaldson, 3B

3. Freddie Freeman, 1B

4. Ronald Acuna, LF

5. Nick Markakis, RF

6. Ozzie Albies, 2B

7. Brian McCann, C

8. Dansby Swanson, SS

9. Julio Teheran, P

The Braves will open the regular season Thursday in Philadelphia.

Earlier this week, Teheran was named the Braves’ opening-day starting pitcher for a franchise-record-tying sixth consecutive season. Hall of Famer Warren Spahn started six season openers in a row for the Milwaukee Braves from 1957-62.
