When a 20-year-old Milwaukee Braves rookie hit his first career home run in his seventh major-league game in 1954, who could have even imagined he would some day pass Babe Ruth and become baseball's all-time home run king?
But that's what Hank Aaron did.
Aaron went deep on April 23 against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. It was the first of his 755 career home runs, surpassing Ruth's total of 714.
Aaron hit just 13 home runs in 122 games in his first season.
