Reliever Dan Winkler pitched in only two games for the Braves last season.

The Braves are 0-1 after falling to the Nationals 4-3 in 10 innings Monday in the season opener. Here are 7 things to know from the box score:

1. Braves reliever Dan Winkler struck out all three batters he faced.

2.  Gordon Beckham saw just six pitches but managed to strike out twice. 

3.  Nick Markakis, who had a rough spring, fanned twice in three at-bats.

4. The Braves had just four hits.

5.  Starter Julio Teheran pitched well, allowing two earned runs in six innings. Both hits were home runs.
