Center fielder Mallex Smith went 4-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and three runs scored as the Gwinnett Braves beat the Norfolk Tides 11-5 Saturday night.

The Braves had 19 hits and are 3-0.

 Gwinnett starter Aaron Blair pitched six innings and got the win. He allowed three earned runs and five hits, walking one and striking out six.
