Luiz Gohara’s recovery is on schedule after the left-hander missed spring training with groin and ankle injuries.

Gohara threw Monday, according to Braves manager Brian Snitker, as he progresses toward making at least one minor-league start.

“He threw a sim game, two innings, kind of a (batting practice) where he got up and down,” Snitker said. “Everything’s good. He’s done the defensive work and the PFPs (pitcher’s fielding practice). Everything’s go. It’s just a matter now, he missed spring training pretty much. So he’s just got to go through the spring training regimen. The ankle’s good, he’s doing all the stuff. Everything is pointing to his normal progression now.”

Gohara remains unlikely to rejoin the Braves before May. Anibal Sanchez will assume the No. 5 slot in the rotation sometime between April 8-11.
