Braves outfielder Ender Inciarte began a rehabilitation assignment with the Florida Fire Frogs Monday. He went 0-for-2 as a designated hitter before being replaced by a pinch-hitter.

Inciarte has been out since mid-May with a lumbar strain.

Inciarte recently went to North Port, Florida to continue his rehabilitation. He was scheduled to take part in a simulated game on Sunday.

The Fire Frogs are the Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Braves in the Florida State League. They began a series at Dunedin Monday. Inciarte batted second. He grounded out to second in the first inning and grounded into a double play in the fourth inning. He was replaced in the sixth inning.

Inciarte appeared in 40 games before the injury with a .218 average, including two home runs and nine RBIs.

Return for updates.
