A weekly update on former Braves players around the majors:

Brian McCann, C

New York Yankees

Yankees catchers hit a woeful .213 last season and McCann is doing even worse so far, hitting .209. He hit .160 in the past week and got a day off Wednesday.

Tim Hudson, P

San Francisco Giants

The 38-year-old has thrown at least seven innings in all seven of his starts. He is 4-2 with a 1.99 ERA, allowing just three walks, three home runs and only 37 hits in 54 1/3 innings.

Martin Prado, 3B

Arizona Diamondbacks

The player who had 82 RBIs last season is on pace for just 44 this season. He’s hitting .243, with no home runs, and has been dropped to sixth in the batting order.

Mark Teixeira, 1B

New York Yankees

Teixeira says his wrist is feeling better and his stats back that up. He had two homers and seven RBIs in the past week and has 13 RBIs in 19 games.

Adam LaRoche, 1B

Washington Nationals

The career .266 hitter continued his hot start, batting. 400 in the last week. LaRoche is hitting .324 and is striking out less this season, with 24 compared to 20 walks.

Omar Infante, 2B

Kansas City Royals

He has been bothered by back discomfort. He had no RBIs in the past week but has 19 this season, which would tie for the Braves’ team lead.

Kelly Johnson, INF

New York Yankees

He has played third, second, first and left field this season but his playing time continues to diminish lately, with just 11 at-bats in the past week. Johnson is hitting .227.

Elvis Andrus, SS

Texas Rangers

Andrus, hitting .225 this season, had a horrible game on May 3. He went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts and hit into a game-ending double play.

Yunel Escobar, SS

Tampa Bay Rays

Now in his eighth season, Escobar is hitting .244 but has just five RBIs in 33 games. He’s made five errors already and had just seven in 153 games last season.
