Braves right-hander Mike Foltynewicz has been hospitalized because of blood clots in his throwing arm, assistant general manager John Coppolella said on Sunday.

Coppolella said Foltynewicz felt pain in the arm Thursday night and it was reddened and swollen when he reported to Turner Field on Friday. The team sent Foltynewicz to the emergency room.

Teheran perfect for six innings

Braves starter Julio Teheran was perfect against the Phillies until second baseman Freddy Galvis ended the bid with a single to lead off the seventh Sunday at Turner Field. Teheran had to settle for a no decision as the Phillies tied the game in the ninth inning before the Braves went on to win 2-1. Teheran held the Phillies to five singles over 8 1/3 innings. The Braves won the game on A.J. Pierzynski's RBI single with one out in the bottom of the ninth. (Click here to read more)  |  Plus post-game quotes here
