Braves players heard a presentation from team doctors Friday at spring training regarding coronavirus.

The doctors discussed “what to look for, how to combat it” and stressed the importance of washing hands frequently with soap, Braves manager Brian Snitker said after the team meeting.

Additional hand sanitizers have been placed “all over the clubhouse,” Snitker said.

Various possible precautions that players can take while signing autographs were discussed.

“It’s kind of individual. I don’t know that you can really force guys to do one thing or another,” Snitker said. “I think the biggest thing they’ve got to realize when you (sign autographs) is make sure you go back and wash your hands really good after handing balls or ink pens back and forth.

“Some (players) may choose to carry their own pen. … Some guys will put batting gloves on (while signing). Remember to throw them away after they’re done. Just precautions. … You just want to be careful.”
