Chaz Roe gets scare, tests show no blood clot

MIAMI – Braves reliever Chaz Roe got some good news when tests this week showed no blood clot in his pitching shoulder.

Roe has been on the disabled list recovering from a strained latissimus dorsi muscle near his right shoulder, and had the setback after one relief appearance at high Single-A Florida. Tests for a possible blood clot came back negative and he’s expected to resume throwing soon.

Roe was shut down for about one week and will have to rebuild arm strength before he can work back to game shape. There’s no firm timetable for his return but the Braves hope to have him back in a few weeks.
