LOS ANGELES – The Braves acquired left-hander Jed Bradley from the Brewers Friday in a minor league trade for cash or a player to be named later. The former Georgia Tech standout will be assigned to Double-A Mississippi.
Bradley, who’ll turn 26 on June 12, had a 6.20 ERA in 17 relief appearances for the Brewers’ Double-A Biloxi affiliate this season, with 20 strikeouts and six walks in 24 2/3 innings.
A former first-round draft pick – 15th overall selection in 2011 – Bradley hasn’t panned out as expected, going 25-31 with a 4.78 ERA in 123 games (64 starts) over parts of six seasons in the minors. The Huntsville, Ala., native had a 9.00 ERA in 20 games (one start) in his first Triple-A stint in 2015.
